Programme Summary
BITE is a practical programme covering 5 key areas. Although each area is covered in depth in one of the 5 monthly workshops, there is overlap and integration in each session and previous participants have welcomed this "journey" approach rather than discrete topic-based learning.
The key areas are:
- Decide where to take your Practice - the process of change; leadership; understanding your current Practice
- Create a smooth running, efficient Practice operation - financial and operational controls; procedures and protocols; managing contracts and if applicable UDA delivery
- Lead your team consistently – how to place the right people in the right jobs with the right skills and attitudes; creating a team and leading it
- Build and motivate your team to achieve your aims - agreed vision and direction, individual and team contributions understood and recognised; performance management, appraisal, training and development
- Delivering a predictable Practice experience understand your patients’ needs and exceed them; define and deliver the patient experience; attract the patients you want; marketing to achieve your aims
Each session is interactive and flexible enough to allow us to work with the group's issues and priorities around a particular theme. We use exercises to stimulate and inform, and reinforce learning with case studies and examples from each of the participant’s practices. We encourage group members to share their experiences and successes and determine areas to be worked on further.
Each workshop will run from 09:30 to about 17:00.
We have found that team participation is of great value on returning to the Practice - it shares and reinforces learning and makes knowledge transfer and culture change much easier. We encourage partners, practice managers and other key team members to join us and offer a discount for these delegates .
